Stromboli
Ingredients
For the dough
- 2 cup All purpose flour/Maida
- 3/4 tsp Instant dry yeast
- 1 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- Cold water-3/4 cup+1 tbsp
For the pizza sauce
- 1 count Onion (medium)
- 2 count Tomato (large)
- 1 1/2 tsp Garlic paste
- 2 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1/4 cup Water
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt
- Italian seasoning
For the filling
- 1/4 cup Chicken boneless pieces
- 1/2 cup Mushroom slices
- 1/4 cup Pineapple chunks
- Cheddar cheese
- Mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup Paprika slices
- 3/4 Avocado or Olive oil
- Onion slices
Directions
In a bowl,mix flour,instant dry yeast, salt .
Add cold water.
Add black pepper powder and mix gently for 2-3 minutes using a spatula.
The dough will be sticky.
Cover it with cling film and refrigerate it or allow it to proof in a cool place overnight. Let it Increase in volume.


Divide the dough into two parts. Cover it with cling film and refrigerate.
Meanwhile prepare the pizza sauce.
Blanch the tomatoes.Discard the skin. Purée the tomatoes.
Grind together onion and garlic.
Heat a thick bottom sauce pan on medium flame.
Add 2 tbsp oil.
Add the onion paste.The add tomato purée.
Stir well.Now add chilli powder and salt .Add a tsp of sugar.
Keep stirring. Add water.Cook for 2-3 minutes.Add the seasoning. Turn off the heat.
Pre heat the oven at 180 degrees C with top and bottom rods on.
Line a rectangular tin with parchment sheet.
Take one portion of the dough.The dough will be sticky.Dust it with flour.
Roll it into a rectangular shape using a rolling pin.
Spread the pizza sauce and rest of the ingredients.
Shape it into a log.Seal the edges. Drizzle avocado or olive oil on top.
Bake for 15 minutes. Now take the tin out and apply egg or salted butter.
Place it back in the oven and bake for 4-5 mins until a golden brown crust is formed.
