Spicy Chicken Curry

Ingredients

  • 500 g Medium size chicken pieces
  • 1 1/2 cup Onion sliced
  • 2 tbsp Garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp Ginger paste
  • 1 cup Tomato finely cut
  • 2 tsp Fenugreek powder
  • 1 tbsp Garam Masala
  • 2 tbsp Red Chilli powder
  • 3 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Jeera powder
  • 10-12 count Curry leaves
  • 3 tbsp Gingely Oil
  • 1 1/2 cups Water
  • Salt to taste

Place a small pressure cooker on medium flame.

Add oil.

Lower the flame. Add garam masala and fenugreek powder.

Add onion and curry leaves.

Add tomatoes and rest of the ingredients except water.

Cook on low heat for 2-3 minutes. Add water . Cover the pressure cooker . Cook for 12- 15 minutes. Turn of the heat. Do not remove the lid. Open the lid after 25-30 minutes.

Let the gravy simmer and thicken for 8-10 minutes on low flame.

Can be served with Appam or Chapatis.
