Spicy bread sticks
Ingredients
- 2 cup All purpose flour/maida
- 3/4 tsp Instant dry yeast
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 3 tbsp Olive oil
- 11 tbsp Water
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Garlic paste
- 1/2 tbsp Red chilli flakes
- 1 tbsp Oil
Directions
In a bowl , mix flour,yeast ,sugar and salt.
Mix well .
Add water and knead well for 6-7 mins . Now add oil .
Knead for another 4-5 mins. Dough will be stiff . Do not add water .
Apply oil and place it in a well oiled bowl .
Cover it with cling film and let it rise.
Meanwhile let us prepare the flavouring . In a small bowl ,heat garlic paste ,red chilli flakes and oil . Keep it aside .
Let the dough double in volume .
Gently knock down the air .
Knead for a minute or two . Add the flavouring and knead for a minute . Cover it with cling film and store it in an air tight container. Refrigerate it for atleast 4-5 hrs .
Divide the dough into four equal portions .
Roll out the dough as shown in the pic .
Cut it into equal sized strips .
Apply milk / water . Sprinkle sesame seeds or basil seeds . Line a rectangle tin with parchment paper. Carefully transfer it to the baking tin .
Egg wash or milk wash the strips . Let it proof for 8-10 mins . Pre heat the oven at 160 degree C with both top and bottom rods on . Bake for 6-7 mins and then reduce the temperature to 150 degree C . Bake for another 2-3 mins until it is golden brown in colour .
Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack .
