Sandwich bread... (eggless & dairy-free)
This sandwich bread has perfect crumb and texture .It is soft and light . Also it is eggless and dairy - free ..
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups All purpose flour
- 1 1/8 tsp Instant dry yeast
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 cup Warm water
Directions
In a bowl ,mix flour ,yeast ,sugar and salt .
Mix it well .
Add warm water and knead for 6-7 minutes .
Add oil and knead for 3-4 minutes .
Shape it into a ball . Apply oil and transfer it into a well oiled bowl . Cover it with cling film and wait for the first rise .
Let it double in size .
Gently punch down the dough and knead it for a minute or two .
Using a rolling pin , roll it into rectangle shape and roll the dough tightly into log shape .
Transfer it into a loaf tin . Cover it with cling film and wait for the second rise . Let it rise . I used 8"x 3.5" loaf tin .
Meanwhile pre heat the oven at 180 degree C for 10 -12 minutes . Apply water on the risen dough using a brush and cover the tin with aluminum foil .
Place the tin on the bottom rack of the oven and bake for 30 minutes , Now take the tin out , remove the aluminum foil and apply butter /milk /eggwash it . Place it back in the oven ( without the aluminum foil) and bake it for another 5-6 minutes until the top is evenly brown in colour .
Transfer it to a wire rack and apply butter or oil with a brush . Allow it to cool at least for 2-3 hrs before slicing .
