Ingredients

  • 4 cups All purpose flour
  • 1 count Egg
  • 2 tbsp Curd
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 3 tsp Sugar
  • Water
  • Baking soda - a pinch

Directions

Knead all the ingredients in a mixer for 10 minutes until the dough is soft and shiny.

Apply oil and cling wrap the dough for 4 hrs.

Now divide the dough into 12 equal portions

Cling wrap the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Apply oil liberally.

Flatten the dough and roll out very thin.

Using a sharp knife cut into thin strips keeping the top and bottom intact.

Now shape it into a rose. Apply oil

Let it rest for 30 minutes.

Using a rolling pin gently flatten the prepared dough.

Heat a non stick tawa.

Place the parota and cook on medium flame.

Once cooked on both the sides, give a good shuffle for the layers to separate. This should be done while the parota are warm.
