Pistachio Orange Sponge Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup All purpose flour/Maida
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1/8 tsp Baking Soda
- tsp Nutmeg powder
- tsp Cinnamon powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
- 3 count Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- 1 tbsp Orange zest
- 1/4 cup Orange juice
- 5 tbsp Water
- 1/4 cup Ground pistachios
Directions
Pre heat the oven at 140 degrees C. Grease and dust a 11”x 7 1/2” aluminium tin.
Sift flour, cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, salt ,baking powder and baking soda thrice.
Keep the pistachio ready.
Separate the egg whites and yolk.
Powder the granulated sugar and sift it twice.
Beat the egg whites using a electric mixer.Add 4 tbsp of powdered sugar. Beat it until the egg whites are stiff. Keep it aside.
In another bowl, beat the egg yolks. Add the orange juice and rest of the powdered sugar until the yolks are pale yellow in colour and almost stiff.
Using a spatula, gently fold in the flour, powdered pistachios, orange zest, vanilla essence and water.
Now gently fold in the beaten egg whites.
Transfer it to the prepared tin.
Bake for 14 - 15 mins at 140 degrees C or until done.
