Pear upside down Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup All purpose flour/ Maida
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 cup Cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp Salted Butter
  • 2 tbsp Cream cheese
  • 1 count Egg
  • 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • Tonovin essence
  • 1 tbsp White vinegar
  • 3 tbsp Red wine
  • 10 count Pear slices
  • 1/3 cup Brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp Melted butter

Directions

Pre heat the oven at 150 degrees C. Grease and dust a 8” aluminium pan. Line the base of the pan with parchment sheet.

Keep the pear slices ready

Sift the flour, baking soda and cocoa powder thrice.

Now, take the prepared pan. Sprinkle brown sugar and 3 tbsp of melted butter.Gently place the pear slices on top and bake for 6-8 minutes.

Turn off the oven. Take the pan out. Keep it aside.

Let us prepare the cake batter.

Cream butter and sugar well. Add cream cheese. Continue creaming on low speed.

Add gently beaten egg.

Fold in rest of the ingredients.

Transfer the batter to the prepared pan.

Bake at 150 degrees C for 40-45 minutes or until done.

Allow the cake to cool properly.

Invert the cake gently.
