Papaya Turmeric Buns

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups All purpose flour/ Maida
  • 1 1/2 cups Bread flour
  • 1 count Egg
  • 3 tbsp Papaya powder
  • 2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp Instant dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Non alcoholic beer
  • 1 tbsp Refined oil

Directions

Keep your stand mixer ready. Transfer all the dry ingredients into the mixer bowl. Turn on the mixer on low speed. Mix all the dry ingredients well for 2-3 minutes. Add all the wet ingredients. Warm the beer lightly before adding. You can add water instead of beer.

Knead for 7-8 minutes on medium speed

Add 1 tbsp oil. Knead for another 5-6 minutes.

Turn off the mixer. Cover the dough with a wet towel. Let the dough double in volume.

Now punch down the dough gently. Shape the dough nto small balls. Each ball weighing around 40gms.

Transfer the balls to a rectangular tin.

Leave some space between each ball.

Proof it until double in volume.

Meanwhile, Pre heat the oven at 180 degrees C.

Place the tin in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.

Take the buns out. Apply salted butter liberally.
