Masala Chai Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 cups All purpose flour/Maida
- 3/4 cup Oats
- 1 tbsp Corn flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 3/4 cup Salted Butter
- Masala Chai extract- few drops
- 3 tbsp Tea powder
- 1 cup Water
Directions
In a saucepan boil water.Add tea leaves. Boil it well on low flame until it reduces to 1/4 cup. Turn off the heat. Strain it. Keep it aside.Let it cool.
Sift flour, corn flour and baking powder thrice.
Cream butter and sugar. Add masala tea extract.
Add sifted sugar and oats. Add black tea decoction.
Knead the dough very gently without applying pressure.
The dough should not be too stiff.
Cling wrap the dough and refrigerate for 30 mins.
Now remove the cling wrap. Take a tbsp of dough and shape it into a ball or any desired shape.
Line a rectangular tin with parchment sheet.
Place the cookie dough carefully. You can line the tin with aluminium foil instead of parchment sheet.
Refrigerate it for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, pre heat oven at 150 degrees C.Turn on the fan mode.
Place the baking tin into the oven.
Let it bake for 18-20 minutes.
Now remove the cookies to a wire rack.
Let it cool.
