Earl Grey Tea Rusks
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup All purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cup Bread flour
- 1 tsp Instant dry yeast
- 4 tbsp Earl grey Tea powder
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Water
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1/3 cup Lightly toasted almonds
For Orange Honey Butter
- 1/2 cup Salted Butter
- 5 tbsp Honey
- 2 tbsp Orange zest
Directions
For the dough
Keep the stand mixer ready. Add all the ingredients except toasted walnuts and oil.
Knead for 8-10 minutes. Add 1-2 tbsp of water if the dough is too stiff.
Add oil and knead for 4- 5 minutes until the dough is shiny and elastic.
Cover the jar with cling film and let the dough double in volume .
Punch down the dough gently. Add coarsely ground toasted almonds. Knead for a minute or two.
Grease and dust two loaf tins.
Divide the dough into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a loaf. Transfer the loaves into the prepared tin. Let it proof.
Pre heat the oven at 180 degrees C.
Bake for 30 minutes at 180 degrees C.
Turn off the oven.
Take the loaves out of the tin. Let the loaves cool well for 3-4 hours.
For Honey Butter, mix together honey, salted butter and orange zest well.
Slice the bread evenly. Apply honey butter on both side using a brush.
Prepare a rectangular baking tin . Line with parchment sheet.
Transfer the bread slices to the prepared tin.
Pre heat the oven at 140 degrees C.Turn on the fan mode.
Bake for 40-50 minutes at 140 degrees C or until the bread slices are crisp.
