Donut Holes
Ingredients
- 2 cup All purpose flour/Maida
- 3/4 tbsp Instant dry yeast
- 1 1/2 tbsp Sugar
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Warm milk
- 3 tbsp Water
- 1 1/2 tbsp Melted butter
- 1/4 cup Sweet potato (mashed)
- 1 tbsp Orange zest
- Oil for frying
Directions
Mix flour, instant dry yeast, sugar, salt, orange zest and mashed sweet potato.
Mix the ingredients together.
Add warm milk. Knead for a minute.
Add water and knead well for 6 minutes.
Add melted butter and knead for another 5 minutes.
Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a well oiled bowl.
Cover it with cling film and let it rise.
Let the dough double in volume.
Now punch down the dough gently.
Knead for a minute or two.
Shape it into a ball.
Roll it out using a rolling pin. Thickness should be around 1 cm.
I am using a small bottle cap to shape it.
Line a rectangular tin with parchment sheet. Allow it to proof for 10 mins.
Heat oil in a heavy bottom frying pan and fry the dough until golden brown.
Dust it with icing sugar or fill it with cream or jam of your choice.
