Chocolate Orange Sable Cookies
Ingredients
- 140 g All purpose flour/Maida
- 25 g Cocoa Powder
- 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
- 100 g Salted butter
- 20 g Castor Sugar
- 30 g Brown sugar
- 80 g Lindt dark chocolate
- 1 tsp Orange zest
- 3 tbsp Orange juice
Directions
Mix flour, cocoa powder,soda powder well.
In another bowl beat salted butter, castor sugar , brown sugar and orange zest until light and creamy.
Do not over beat.
Add the flour mixture and orange juice.
Gently knead it .
Break the chocolate into small pieces.
I used Lindt orange intense .
Add this to the dough.
Mix well.
Divide the dough into two parts.Take one part and place it on a wax sheet. Flatten a bit.
Place another wax sheet on top of the dough and roll it gently.
It should not be too thin or too thick.
Use a cookie cutter for the desired shapes. I used a bottle cap.
Line a tin with parchment paper and place the cookies . Refrigerate for 10 mins.
Meanwhile pre heat the oven at 140 degree C in fan mode for 15 mins. Place the baking tin in the oven and bake for 10 -11 mins. If you want the cookies very crisp , bake for 13-14 mins.
Take the cookies out of the oven .Let it cool in the baking tin for 5 mins. After 5 mins , transfer it to a cooling rack. Allow it to cool well.This can be stored in a airtight container.
