Buttery Brioche bun (Burger bun)
These mini brioche buns are light , soft and buttery .A perfect burger bun..
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups All purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp Instant dry yeast
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp Warm milk
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 count Egg
- 1 tsp Salt
- 3/4 cup Water
- 1 1/2 tbsp Sesame seed
- 1 count Egg ( egg wash )
Directions
In a cup mix warm milk , sugar and yeast .
Let it stand until it is frothy .
In a bowl mix flour and salt well . Add butter and mix well .
Mix the yeast and lightly beaten egg .
Add water and knead well for 8-10 minutes .
The dough will be sticky . Do not add extra flour .
Form the dough into a ball .
Apply oil on the dough and transfer the dough into a well oiled bowl .
Cover it with cling film and let it double in size .
Gently knock the air out and knead gently for a minute or two .
It is always advisable to weigh the dough and then divide it into equal portions .
Each portion weigh around 60 gms .
Roll them into balls and place then on a well oiled baking tray . Cover the tin with cling film and wait for the second rise .
Let it double in size .Egg wash the buns and sprinkle sesame seeds . Pre heat the oven at 180 degree C .
Cover the tin with aluminum foil and bake at 180 degree C for 13 minutes . Now take the tray out and remove the aluminum foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes .
Transfer the buns to a wire rack and apply butter or oil . Let the buns cool well for at least 3-4 hours .
