Buns with potato filling
These mini buns are super soft and pillowy. Mildly spicy and very delicious. Perfect with a cup of tea.
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 cups All purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp Instant dry yeast
- 1 cup Warm water
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Sugar
Ingredients for filling
- 2 count Boiled potatoes
- 1 count Onion
- 2 count Garlic
Ingredients for the masala
- 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp Tumeric powder
- 3 tbsp Water
- 1 tsp Garam masala powder
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt to taste
Directions
In a bowl mix flour,sugar,salt ,yeast and oil well . Add warm water and knead for 10-12 minutes until the dough is elastic and shiny . Transfer the dough into a well oiled bowl . Cover it with cling film and wait for the first rise . Let it become double in size . Deflate the dough and knead it gently . Divide the dough in to equal sized balls . Stuff each one with filling and keep it for the second rise . Apply milk on the dough with a brush and wait for the second rise . Pre heat the oven at 200°c . Cover the dough with aluminum foil and bake for 12-15 minutes . Remove the aluminum foil . Eggwash the buns and bake again for 3-4 mins . Transfer the buns to a wire rack and apply butter liberally .
Direction for the filling
Heat a pan and pour oil and saute the chopped onion and garlic. Add the spices and the boiled potatoes. Add salt while boiling the potatoes Reduce the flame and mix well, Cook for 3-4 minutes and turn off the flame. Let it cool.
