Brioche Donuts

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All purpose flour/Maida
  • 3/4 tsp Instant dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 count Egg
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • Icing sugar for dusting

Directions

In a bowl, mix flour, instant dry yeast, sugar and salt well.

Now add gently beaten egg.Mix well.

Add 3/4 cup of water and knead for 6 minutes.

Now add butter and knead for another 4 minutes.

Shape the dough into a ball. Grease a small bowl with oil. Place the dough into the bowl.Cover it with cling film and keep it in a warm place . Let the dough double in volume.

Now gently punch down the dough.

Knead the dough gently for a minute.

Using a rolling pin roll out the dough into a circle.

You can use a donut cutter or a bottle cap to shape the donuts.

Allow it to proof.

Let it double in volume.

You can bake them or fry them in oil. I deep fried them.

Let it cool a bit. Dust it with icing sugar and serve.
