Black Sesame Paste Buns
Ingredients
For black sesame paste
- 1/2 cup Black sesame
- 2 tbsp Honey
For the dough
- 2 cups Bread flour
- 1 cup All purpose flour/ Maida
- 3 tbsp Molasses syrup
- 1 Instant dry yeast
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Refined oil
- 1 count Egg
- 3/4 cup Water
Directions
For the Sesame paste
Take a heavy bottom saucepan. Toast the sesame seeds on very low flame for 4-5 minutes. Turn off the heat. Let it cool.
Grind it in a mixer without water until the oil comes out. Add honey and grind it until smooth.
Store it in a airtight bottle. Can be refrigerated.
For the dough
Mix all the dry ingredients in a stand mixer bowl on medium speed.
Add water, egg , molasses and sesame paste.
Knead for 10-12 minutes.
Add refined oil.
Knead for another 5-6 minutes.
Cover the bowl with cling film. Let the dough rise.
Let it double in volume.
Punch down the dough gently. Knead for a minute or two.
Divide the dough into equal portions each weighing 40 gms each.
Shape each portion into a ball.
Grease and dust a rectangular tin.
Transfer these balls to the prepared tin.
Let it proof.
Preheat the oven at 180 degrees C.
Place the tin into the oven. Bake for 18-20 minutes.
Take the buns out . Apply butter liberally.
